Where are the nearest schools?
Teviot Downs is within close proximity to a range of prep (Greenbank Preschool - 13 mins, Greenbank Community Preschool & Kindergarten - 13 mins), primary (Greenbank Primary School - 13 mins, The Springfield College - 26 mins) and secondary (Springfield College - 26 mins, park Ridge State High 14 mins) schools. The University of Southern Queensland is also just 20 minutes away.
Can we remove trees from the land?
Trees should not be unnecessarily removed from within the building envelope. Any tree that is removed must be replaced by planting one new tree. Clearing vegetation outside of the building envelope is not permitted by Council.
Does the estate have covenants to abide by?
Yes. Teviot Downs has an estate covenant that is designed to maintain a high standard of housing within the estate. This allows purchasers to choose any builder of their choice.
How big should my house be?
Teviot Downs encourages a home size of at least a 250sqm and a frontage of at least 17m.
Are House & Land Packages available?
Yes. We have a number of different packages tailored to the needs of the purchasers. Our packages range from the home starter to the complete package.
Are there any shops nearby?
Yes, there are several shopping options nearby. The Greenbank Shopping centre is almost at your doorstep. It features a Woolworths and numerous specialty stores. 10 Minutes down the road is the retail & commercial hub of Browns Plains, which includes the Browns Plains Plaza. The Orion Shopping Centre & Springfield Lakes shopping precinct, which includes over 100 specialty stores is also only 12 minutes away.
Has the estate been affected by recent flooding?
No. Teviot Downs has been constructed above the Q100 flood level and was not adversely affected by the recent flooding in January 2011.
When can I start building my new home?
This will depend on when settlement occurs and you take possession of the land. This date is usually 30 days from when you purchase your land. Straight away once you take possession of the land and have received council and covenant approval for your new home.
Who is the developer
Teviot Downs is developed by Lateral Properties, a UDIA award winning residential land developer. Australian owned, Lateral Properties focus is to develop high quality affordable residential estates that wholly enhance the natural atmosphere of their surroundings with consideration to the environment and a focus on community spirit.
Can I use my own builder?
Yes. While Teviot Downs does work with a range of builders who have provided a sample of their house & land packages for the estate, you can also choose your own builder and own design to suit your individual requirements.
Is town water available?
Teviot Downs is connected to 'constant flow' town water.
Are the blocks connected to sewer?
Teviot Downs is not connected to the mains sewer system. A Household Sewage Treatment Plant (HSTP) is required for all homes at Teviot Downs. Your new home builder is able to manage the installation for you. More information is available at the sales office.
Do school buses service the estate?
Yes, a number of public and private school bus services are operational at Teviot Downs.
Where is the nearest public transport?
The Park Ridge Park 'n' Ride bus station is 10 mins away and the Springfield train station is 15 mins away.
